Garden Gold (1 kg bag)
Mealworm frass to fertilize your plants and garden
NZ$10.00
The "poo" that comes from my organic mealworms is called "frass". It is an incredible plant fertilizer - hence it's name of "Garden Gold".
Mealworm frass enriches gardens by acting as a nutrient-rich, organic fertilizer and a plant-strengthening bio-stimulant, improving soil fertility, water retention, and plant resilience against pests and diseases, especially through its unique chitin content. It can be applied as a topdressing, mixed into soil or potting mixes, brewed into a liquid compost tea for foliar feeding, or added to hydroponic systems.
How to Use Mealworm Frass in Your Garden
Soil Building & Potting Mixes:
Mix 5–10 tablespoons of frass per 10 liters of soil.
Topdressing:
Apply 3–6 tablespoons per plant or approximately 0.5–1 liter per 10 m² every 2–3 weeks during the plant's active growth period. Water thoroughly after application.
Compost Teas:
Add 1–2 tablespoons of frass per liter of water to create a compost tea. Brew for 12–24 hours, then use as a root drench or foliar spray.
Foliar Spray:
Steep frass in water (about 1 tablespoon per liter) for 30 minutes, strain it thoroughly, and spray it on the leaves during early morning or evening.
Hydroponics:
Incorporate frass into hydroponic systems as a top-dress at 5 tablespoons per plant or add 1 tablespoon per liter of reservoir water after straining.
Posted in sealed bags, postage is additional.
